About Silver Nut Tree
Silver Nut Tree began as an answer to a few questions asked to the designers by their little ones, which made these moms turn into eco entrepreneurs and redefine the very perception of recycling.
What started as an experiment soon turned into a full-fledged business and discarded glass and PET plastic bottles, Cd’s, bottle caps have been kept out of landfills by up-cyling the same into items of higher environmental valued home décor and art-wear Jewellery.
The name “Silver Nut Tree” comes from an old nursery Rhyme and as with every nursery rhyme that portrays a historical fact of significant change cloaked in nonsensical verse, the Company too hints at the massive change one can effect a little bit at a time, one person at a time.
About the Designers – Rituparna & Angeline
Rituparna is an avid reader, photographer, writer, graphic designer from Culcutta, and Angeline is an ex-banker, hunter of mythology and all things odd and a puzzle geek. A mutual love of philosophy, poetry and books got them together and the very challenge of making an old plastic Pepsi bottle into something wearable intrigued them. The experiments go on in a daily mad scientist type of way and the finish of every product is tried and tested and has been well appreciated in the global markets.
Silver Nut Tree and Sunday Soul Sante
The founder of Sunday Soul Sante has been the most avid supporter of SNT and when the designers themselves balked in the startup days of the concept, SSS showcased the then 5 month old Silver Nut Tree in Bangalore’s best loved flea market for the first time in October 2012. Today 10 Soul Santhe’s old Silver Nut Tree has kept a personal challenge of launching a unique new upcycled product at every Santhe.
Soul Sante has been the best market to reach out directly to our customers and to send the message of going green and conserving the planet without compromising on style.
